Welding: MMAW/GTAW/FCAW/SAW

  • Advanced welding. (Types of butt joints, correct preparation, root face, gap, bevel, etc.)
  • Advanced MMAW. (1G-2G-3G single vee, stop/starts, correct feathering, LH rods, etc.)
  • Advanced FCAW. (1G-2G-3G single vee.)
  • GTAW machine setup. (Settings, polarity, gas settings, tungsten’s, consumables, etc.)
  • Routine GTAW. (Correct tacking, stop/starts, filler rod technique, high frequency, etc.)
  • Submerged arc setup. (Theory and correct operation of machine.)
  • Submerged arc welding. (1F fillet, 1G single vee.)
  • Arc air gouging.
  • First aid.
  • Over head crane. (Safe use and correct operation.)
  • Fork lift course.
  • Plate Code 3G or 4G. Various processes.

Theory

  • NF17 welding theory parts 7+8+12. (Welding procedures, Weld joints, MMAW electrodes.)
  • 2 days on code interpretation.
  • Basic inspection techniques. (Visual, MPI, DPI.)
  • On-site visit to Marine Inspection Service for double side weld inspection.
  • On-site visit to Inspection Service for hands on inspection etc.
  • AS1210, 3992 etc.
