SRC Cards enable employers to employ without testing or further training, as the card indicates that students have met a set level of welding skill competency.
They are available at 6 levels, and students must complete a minimum number of various training package modules and units before being issued each level card.
All training delivered is in accordance with NatThonal competencies and every SRC Card Level is mapped against Nationally Accredited Training.
A further requirement of issue of the SRC Card is completion of equivalent periods of on and off the job training.
There are 2 ways to obtain an SRC Card.
By completing a traineeship and achieving competency in the required modules to obtain each level of card.Students can be practically assessed to determine which SRC level they meet before any training commences. The highest level students can commence at is SRC Level 3 as the skills requirements of higher levels is above normal trade skills.
A skills audit conducted on qualified or experienced welders determines which SRC level they meet.
